Mission/ purpose of the club: The Young Queens Club is a leadership club designed to empower young girls by building confidence, kindness, responsibility, and leadership skills.

When will the program take place ( before or after school): Before School / Every other Wednesday at 7:30AM ( Starting in October) 

Description of planned activities: Students will participate in team-building activities, discussions, service projects, and character-building lessons in a positive and supportive environment. Our goal is to help students become respectful leaders both inside and outside the classroom. The club will encourage girls to support one another, set goals, and make a positive impact in their school community.

Purpose and Description of Club:

These students are nominated by their teacher as being students who are respectful, responsible, and role-models. Each morning they assist with raising the flag each morning. 

Mission/ purpose of the club: Ferguson Forte is a music club for students who enjoy music and want to improve their musical abilities.

When will the program take place ( before or after school): Wednesday and Thursday ( 2 separate groups) at 7:30a

Description of planned activities: In this club, we will sing, dance, and play instruments. Students will meet before school once a week to prepare for a concert that will take place in December.

Purpose and Description of Club:

Open to teacher-recommended 5th graders who demonstrate responsible behavior in the classroom, fluent reading, interest in technology, ability to follow directions, and work cooperatively in a group. These 5th graders will work in teams of 7-9 students each 7-8 weeks to produce our school's closed-circuit live morning news show. Students rotate through production jobs such as: chroma key/green screen, sound board, video mixer, ProPresenter, teleprompter, and on-air speaking parts.

Each week, our group of 2nd and 3rd graders will explore exciting reading topics through stories, themed activities, and engaging lessons that help build strong reading skills. Our goal is to help students become confident readers while having fun with books and hands-on activities.

When will the program take place (before or after school): After School / Wednesday (Every week) 4p - 5p .Roughly 4:00 p.m. (or when bus call is finished since the media center is used for bus call) to 5:00 p.m. ( Start in September) 

Description of planned activities: Each week, our group of 2nd and 3rd graders will explore exciting reading topics through stories, themed activities, and engaging lessons that help build strong reading skills.

Purpose and Description of Club:

The Principal's Elite Club focuses on teaching students to be leaders in their school and community. Students will take field trips throughout the school year, work on service projects, and complete leadership studies. Students have to be nominated by their 5th grade teacher to be part of the Principal's Elite Club.

Mission/ purpose of the club: Our robotics team gives young students their first taste of STEM, blending teamwork, creativity, and interactive learning into an exciting experience.

Who can join the club: Fourth and Fifth Graders 

When will the program take place (before or after school): After School /  Wednesdays, 3:45-5:30 Late August through Early December; will possibly add some Mondays 

Description of planned activities: The team will meet weekly to learn how to design, build, and program robots to perform various tasks. 

Any national state, or local affiliations: Affiliated to the county 

Mission/ purpose of the club: Student Council is a leadership club that gives students the opportunity to make a positive impact on our school community.

When will the program take place ( before or after school): Before School / Twice a month at 7:30a on Thursday ( which day) 

Description of planned activities: Students will work together to plan school events, promote school spirit, support service projects, and help share student ideas and concerns. Student Council encourages teamwork, responsibility, creativity, and leadership skills while giving students a voice in making our school a fun and welcoming place for everyone. Any student who enjoys helping others, working with peers, and being involved in school activities is encouraged to participate!

The club will provide opportunities for personal growth, academic enrichment, and community involvement.

When will the program take place ( before or after school): After School / Every other Friday ( same Friday as Young Queens/ Start date: September 11th 

Description of planned activities:  

The Girls Club at Ferguson Elementary School aims to create a supportive and empowering environment where girls can develop leadership skills, build self-confidence, and form lasting friendships. The club will provide opportunities for personal growth, academic enrichment, and community involvement.

Fall Book Fair: October 15th - 22nd, Open from 9-3 on school days plus during Trick or Treat Night.

Spring Book Fair: March 3rd - 7th, open from 9-3

Description of Activity:

Twice a year, in the Fall and Spring, the media center hosts a book fair to support independent reading at home. Each class visits the book fair where students may purchase items to read and keep.

This is a chance to promote literacy and a love of reading in our school. In this evening event, students and families will participate in literacy activities such as read alouds, crafts, and a visit to the book mobile.

We honor and recognize all nationalities here at Ferguson Elementary. We culminate our Hispanic Heritage month celebration with a student parade. Students from many countries dressed up to represent their Hispanic heritage.

We honor and celebrate the cultures and nationalities of our students and staff members. Each grade level chooses a country to represent during International Night. Parents and teachers work together to create activities and food dishes that represent their select country. Our community comes together to celebrate with each other on this special celebration.

Every year for Read Across America, we will support reading in our school. Students will have the opportunity to dress up like a book character and participate in a parade. Students will also share a book talk with their classmates about their book and listen to a read aloud from a special guest reader in their classroom.

Parents and students can enjoy our very own Forte performance. Parents and students can also participate in various STEAM activities throughout the school building.
